Tito's 1st communion
Greetings! I am so excited to create my first post- and launch the blog! If you know me then you know over the last year I have experimented and created hundreds of cupcakes. It's gotten so bad that my kids don't even want to eat them anymore! lol Anyway for my son Tito's first communion Yoly and I decided to up the ante and create a candy bar with matching cupcakes- sounds relatively simple- but it took 3 dry runs (of cupcake recipes) very innovative designing and many trips to Homegoods looking for the right candy jars. We did it and had a great time! Our dinner theme was Italian and we served a white peach Sangria (themed cocktails are always a crowd favorite) Fettuccini Alfredo, Chicken parmesan, Salmon, and an artisan mozarella and spinach ravioli. The food was amazing- but the highlight was definetly the dessert table!
To make the cupcakes I couldn't find a cross cookie cutter small enough for fondant decorations. So I got creative- I found some pretty cross toothpicks and used them as a stencil to create the pattern, then I used a biscuit cutter to cut out the circles- after some icing and sprinkles- voila! Communion themed cupcakes.
Since this is new for me if you want me to post recipes or have any questions please let me know!
